At start I thought it wad a construction stage until u said it's almost ready.. I'd add something surely..

I second you on that.. it feels like there's something missing for me...
* @Belugas wonders what is worst... a mom or a wife...
<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

I agree, I'd say add the dome, or a cupola or something, the roof looks too bare. Maybe even a copper coloured peaked roof?

Also, attached are some edits to Zephyris' buses I did awhile back to bring a bit more detail to the RV's (stopped there), but if you can use them, awesome :D

**EDIT**
Also added a preview of some of the trains I'm working on/revising. I like the 30pix (+ coupler) idea and I'm aiming for that goal.

@ Darkmast49
Those are the latest sprites, enjoy.

Ok!

And for the bank I think a nice coppery coloured sloped roof sounds like a good idea, i'll give it a go. Sorry for the delay on the bridges btw, I am redrawing the wooden ones and playing with some new ideas for supports...

Hey Zephyris!

The bridges look good already, however, as you said some of the supports still look a little ugly. And i noticed that the alignment of the rail/erail-track on the bridge looks kinda weird, as it is a lot closer to the one side than to the other one... Dunno if it is possible to fix that though.

I'm starving for a first release :)

I'm thinking of extending all the railcar sprites to 30px, Although passenger cars would look better at 32, and freight wagons at 28 (or 26), I'm not sure what to set everything at, thoughts? Since there's really only one car of each type, I'm inclined to set them all at 30.

I haven't done that much yet, as I need to get the hang of it again, but is this any better?

EDIT: Comparing it to the original road vehicles, I see mine is pretty bad.. Will try again tomorrow :P

Attached is a pixel tweaked version of the standard TTD boat sprites, based on the non anti-aliased versions of the ships. These are also cross-posted in the boat thread... Would anyone like a coding challenge? There will be quite a lot of offset fiddling...

You may think its bad but you've got the right idea - headlights, better window shading etc. You might also want to look at tweaking the wheels, check out the latest graphics for the generic road vehicle and tram set...

I would say a consistent 30px, the graphics look amazing though - I really like the styles of each climate.
*edit* actually really amazing, way better than the original graphics!

*edit 2* and hows this for an improved roof for the temperate bank? It fits on the same base tile as the old sprite...

Not bad for the bank, but I'd say go green :) Copper doesn't stay natural for long

Will do on the trains

Ships look awesome, great job, both of you :D

I think the bank would look better with a taller roof. Current one looks a bit flat.

Hmmm, ok... Green is easy, taller will take some time! And here are the power station sprites; the sparks (the plain blue sprites) have already been made by soeb here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 37#p667637

To be honest I think it is not worth the effort for the 8bpp sprites - it is such a pain tweaking pixels. You may have noticed I am a quantity not quality artist! Having said that it is always good to get the sprites as good as possible, I do invite anyone to improve the sprites further using the anti-aliased source .pngs. It would also be great to have 32bpp versions of the sprites too, render them with a transparent background (and at 4x size for the extra zoom levels patch) and people will love it!

Right, I started doing the ships but some of the offsets make even less sense than the other vehicles so I will do them when I have a little more free time.

In the meantime, I have done the bank.

I'm not sure if you were implying that you would code the power station yourself, Zephyris. If not, I'll do that tomorrow too.

Why not trying a glass roof for the bank? ;)

Looks nice.
A little Enhancement: Most banks in real world have some kind of logo on it. What about this one?

Not a good idea IMO... Each currency has its own logo, using a euro sign wouldn't please everyone (most members here are non-EU inhabitants, or at least non-euro zone)
