Hyronymus.

That formula allows to calculate tractive effort. And the 'u' (mi) changes from 0,15 for some steam locos to 0,4 for modern equipment.

30% grade is way too much for rv. 20% s really steep.
All art and vehicle stats I authored for TT and derivatives are as of now PUBLIC DOMAIN! Use as you see fit
Just say NO to the TT fan-art sprite licensing madness. Public domain your art as well.

Meeting Decisions:

* Nothing were really decided, but there where quite some discussion about it.

* Main voices:
- Have a clear maximum, to make the game clear to the players.
- Don't have a maximum, it will trade off to much.
- Use RRT style charts, that displays: max speed at various loads and slopes.

Status: Inconclusive. Open to discussion.

does not exclude any of the two other points,

I'm not sure what you mean.

Those points are just random things people said. Not much has been decided.

Clearly we have the means to calculate whether a train can actually start unaided (i.e. without the benefit of a push off, or a downhill start). Ultimately, a given amount of energy is required to start a vehicle or train of given mass, and the propulsion available either can or cannot bring it to the point of motion - there is no in-between. If you manage to beat the weight but not overcome friction, you haven't reached the point of motion.

Locked until the DD discussion arrives at this issue.
