Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
So, a little progress. Since it's absolutely impossible to know everything about oil rigs that would be needed for a "proper" visualisation, I've chosen to just ignore my investigation/researches and to pick me *two* oil rig photos and operate on these. Otherwise I'll get headache ^^
Appended: An intermediate version (two to be exact: One with the old and one with new backings.) Any comments? [I think I'll also replace the heliport, so don't bother about it.]
@Zephyris: Nice houses. And with different gardens they'll get "home sweet home" .

Attached are a ridiculous amount of buildings...
Re: mph
Nice flats!
And yes I agree the windows look flat, do you feel like improving the others
Re: Roujin
Its just a classic style of 50s(?) house quite common around my area... Its white panneling down one side of the building.
Re: T-Unit
Satisfied?
Re: Red*Star
Mmmm, nice. I assume there is more shading to come...

No! This can't be true. Maybe I drunk too much tonight and see so many houses?
Red*Star: I like the first with the pillars. And to my opinion helipad fits better now. Nice job!

Sorry, overread this the first time. Thx.Pingaware wrote:Oil rig looks wonderful Red*Star. Hope you finish it soon.
Ok, then I don't have to redo it? Sorry that I ask, I mean I am the artist, but... I've just seen too many oil rigs in the last days. I think it's better to go to bed now to give my eyes a little rest. ^^athanasios wrote:Red*Star: I like the first with the pillars. And to my opinion helipad fits better now. Nice job!

Hello chaps,
Awesome progress, I'm really impressed by the pace of this project!
Red*Star - Awesome work on the Oil rig!
MPH - I adore that lighthouse!
Zephyris - The work on the town buildings is fantastic. I still don;t feel the windows are right though (I think I mentioned this before with the industry ones). I think they need some much brighter pixels in there to simulate a more realistic reflection. Windows take a bit of experimenting, but I think it would make a massive difference. If I get 5mins of spare time, I'll have a play and see if I can find a good result.
Keep up the superb work!!

Sorry for the late reply. I've had shed loads of work related business and haven't been on the forums for a month and half! Yes Rich, you're right. The only aerials you see on UK airports are small whip kinda things. You don't really get large transmitters. The largest masts we have at Gatwick are still just think whip types and wouldn't produce a very interesting TTD graphic.richk67 wrote:...Im not sure what antenna complex an airport should have. ISTR most just have twig/whip antennas attached to the top of the control tower. Any ideas? BenK?

I do see what you mean, mph said the same thing at the end of the last page. If you can try tweaking them that would be awesome!
And, seeing as those houses went down well, and inspired by mph's flats, here is my latest WIP:

Zephyris, the laast versions are snowy?
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Yup! Should I put snow on the construction stages?

Those are amazing. So much better than i was hoping for. One of the stone ones reminds me of my old school!
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Hello, nice work there (and now in a package too )!
I have some feedback regarding the snow. I think it looks too rough and has some unattractive patterns on the slightly snowy tiles. See the screenshots. The last one is granulated finelier but I don't like how the grid stands out on the lowest snow there. The grf is from here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=34742

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
is anyone going to redo the airports so they like change to the year such as from just dirt runways to concrete and ashfolt runways?
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
It could be done, but its not a priority...
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
The last snow image looks great! I agree that the current OpenGFX one is a little bit strange, the patterns look artificial.
