I get the creepy feeling that Owen payed you with the left-over money from the server fundraising... Would be cool if the forum on the official 3DTT site came here too.

Could anyone redirect me to an english page where the whole ordeal bout 3DTT is explained?
Something about Ubisoft stealing stuff, a court hearing, etc? My german is really bad, and I couldn't find a single clear post here telling me what happened.

If anyone could be so kind :)

not in english as of yet. i have permission from Peter to translate it, but never got round to completeing it, though you will find odd bits in english in "3D Transport Tycoon"

and here in short:
Peter started project as hobby
hobby grew and got others involved
got a publisher (VX)
Peter still had rights
publisher want release early and Peter disagreed (the publisher was s***)
Peter was fired (i think)
publisher published game through ubisoft without Peters permission. Peters first lawyer failed to stop publication, hence the on going court case with new lawyer.

hope that helped

Somehow you managed to translate 18 to 16, a strange translation error. But apart from that (and you're kind of slow reply ;)) you got the gist.

Time for an update.

Have a look here. If you are totally lost, then basically it's a message telling that final judgement in the case by Peter Dobrovka regarding 3DTT has been postponed from the 1st of March to the 22nd of March 2006.

That was yesterday.

Since no news has been posted today, I start to wonder if it went bad.

Anybody with any info on this?

Lastest news (from the forum) we have to finally wait 3 weeks until it is in "paper form". So it seems there was judgment...

Well... its 2010.... all the sites for TTT are down (except our forum of course  ) .... what now?
The graphic engine is in my opinion still competitive to today`s standards... is there hope for a similar game like TTT with bigger maps (as we have more memory in our PCs) ans working economy and such???? :?:

The engine is outdated and would need to be seriously revised so that it works on new hardware, not to mention it's shader support HAS to be updated. But by the look of it the project is just dead.

IMO this section should be locked and unlocked only if the project shows signs of actual life.

Fortunately you are not calling the shots, mr. backseatmoderator.

I was just expressing my opinion, seeing how TTU section received such treatment it was only logical to assume the same for 3DTT.

As people still want news (Feb 2010):

http://forum.kalypsomedia.com/showthrea ... 3#pid31983

Sum-Up:
Peter Dobrovka doesn't write software anymore and since 2006 he operates spinal disk (neurosurgery)...

The TTU forum was locked because the author had specifically ceased its development. However, 3DTT/TTT was actually released as a product (even if it wasn't quite "proper"), and people may still come looking for information here.

Maybe we should contact Peter and ask him to release what he has?
