I can't be sure but I'm confident an ad redirected me to a potentially malicious page advising that I needed to update Java... Turns out I did need to update but not through that suspicious page.
I have reported the page to the relevant service provider.

Do you have any anti-virus software and have you run it recently? I had a similar thing earlier in the day, but getting a trial of Norton and getting rid all the threats, I haven't had this sort of thing pop-up.

I have AVG and Norton Internet Security and I have not had anything pop up.
Very much a retired regular poster..... If you can say that
