Could have something to do with the fact that it actually use truck engines.... (4 engines pr. dmu, one at each bogie)....

You can create the trains by making them in 3D application and then rendering the angles and convert it to loco palette too.

Any tutorials or info on what angles and what sprites to create from the model?

Update on the IC3, added a first preview of the swedish variation, known as Y2(k):

Nope, wouldn't ever even think about hand drawing 408 frames of graphics (and with bogies even more)...... As Akalamanaia says, was made with an 3d application, and then rendered.... ;)

Depends on how you config it, most of the trains have 64 angles on none slopes, and 32 angles on slopes (*2, both up and down)....

Did you draw "transparent" pixels manually? How did you find true xofs and yofs point for every image?

Nope, it's just to set the the background color before rendering ;)

By making all images the same size, and the train centered, then xofs and yofs will be the same for every image ;) (ok, it's a little bit vast of resources, but much easier.....)

I tried it. When I turned rendering to locomotive palette it gave my bus a blue shine around outlines. As 3d program makes it anti-aliased, how did you overcome this problem?

Well then it makes it look ugly otherwise. I may have some roundway solution to it. Thank you anyway :o

Chris Sawyer really need to look into a recently developed technology called "24 bit colors and alpha blending". ;)
