can't build vehicles

I am new to the game. Just downloaded the windows deluxe version and 1.81 patch. Game seems to run fine, except it will not allow me to build any vehicles of any kind except planes.

Can anyone help on this?

Yes, please post the contents of ttdpatch.cfg here. This sounds like a peculiar problem - what version of Windows do you have?
