Hungarian signal set v0.2b release

Post by chipetke »

Hi Folks,
My first try at pixel hunting and coding (well, an easy one ;)) is here!
First, and hopefully not last piece of the Hungarian set. I know, it's not a big bang, but I like it.

Any help is welcome...

Edit1:
Remark: since it's a beta, semaphores are light signals too.. maybe later time I will draw them, or someone else..

Edit2:
As You may not know by default:
  • Normal signals: colored stripe on the pole has a break (ie. the red or yellow stripe has a white paint-on)
  • PBS signals: colored stripe doesn't have break

(G)(R)(Y) - Standard signal (on Red-White-Red pole)
(R)(G) - Exit signal (on Red-White-Red pole)
(G)(Y) - Entrance signal (on Yellow-White-Yellow pole)
(W)(W)(G)(Y) - Combo signal (on Yellow-White-Yellow pole)

Key: (G) Green light (R) Red light (Y) Yellow light (W) Lunar white light
Ordered from top to bottom

Edit3:
just corrected a typo above in signal light colors
Edit4:
Reposting updated screenie & grf...

Not too bad, but they could definitely do with some shading. Otherwise the poles remain flat to the viewer, and the lights dull.

Well,

I'm back to pixel hunting, but one or two shades does't seem to count. OK, I will do it with a bit more shades, and repost the grf.
In my plans, 3rd release would contain the hungarian semaphores, and maybe some changes according to reality... I thought I should make the signals a bit lower, but in this case I would loose the opportunity to use signal poles to distinguish signals on their role.
As "usual", any feddback is welcome.

Yes, please stick to english here IngaPapagaj. You're more than welcome to speak Hungarian in PM though :)).

:D:D:D
Please don't take his post in hungarian too serious.. anyways the hungarian part is only the translation of text above... the hungarian post is probably because he wanted to see hungarian signals in TTD for a very long time (just like me), but there were no sets like this..
This makes me working harder :D

BTW, IngaPapagaj: Please keep the consistency of the forums, and post here only in english (it's only a request from a hungarian to a hungarian) but in PM you are always welcome to write in hungarian.

Edit1:
Of course, I'm really happy that you like my work :) I hope, you won't be the only one ;)

Perfectly understandable :)).

Glad to hear it :)). I'm not annoyed, just making sure. I know you translated it, but for those that don't speak Hungarian, we don't know if it is a translation or what .

Thankyou.

Here is an update of the signal set.

Changes:
- Signal poles are cut in the half and repainted. Now they fit more into the TTDP world.
- Added some shading. More round poles, and lights are not a one-shade anymore.

Plan:
- As I said before, semaphores will be added in the next release.

Screenshot & .grf file is updated in the first post
Feedback is welcome

Hi! I think you can change the green light with the yellow light, because in Hungary, the signals know this version.
And good luck for the semaphores!

Please specify what do you think of... If you are talking about the 3-lamp main signal, AFAIK it is the correct version, according to my knowledge, which is based on (F.1 - Signalling specifications for the Hungarian Railways), but I can look it up..

Hmm... In the F1, there is the yellow light in down, and the green is in up.
And in your screenshoots, the yellow is in up. 8)

And at the pre-signals:
The green is in up, and the yellow is in down!

 Looked it up on the web, and you're right, IngaPapagaj... well, I drew them without the F.1, and I remembered them this way.
Anyone want me to do a mid-release with corrected light orders?
