The Great TT Meeting of June 2007 sponsored by Zernebok

Post by andel »

Ladies and Gentlemen (And Dave),

I have been charged with gathering all Forumers willing (and those unwilling) to meet in June 2007.

The Venue will be The BullRing, Birmingham. Directions will be supplied

The Date will be 30th June 2007.

The Cost to Get In? Nothing - it will simply be that you must get there and leave afterwards of your own accord and safely.

What to do? Have a good time. Without shouting "BOMG" or Rofflecoptr. Or Anything stupid.

Small print does apply:
Under 16s need to ensure parental permission and must ensure they phone Mum and Dad when they arrive, half way through and on the way home. Foreign visitors welcome provided they buy Owen a beer. No one will be accommodated by organisers nor can we accept responsibility for missed trains, missed planes and mislaid laptops. We have no insurance for any thing that gets mislead nor accidents caused by tomfoolery (Or DaveWorley) as it is an informal gathering at present. There will be no alcohol or food provided and it is recommended you bring cash with you for food and drink. Terms and conditions can be amended at any time. Telephone numbers for the organisation team will be available on the day. If anyone pushes Born_Acorn off the side of the Bull-Ring, make sure Andel is not a witness as then it becomes SEP - namely, Dave's.

There is now a report available detailing the final meeting point.

I have added a venue poll... if you are voting from outside the UK, please choose one of the last two options... if you are voting within the UK, please use one of the first two options.

It is essential you choose the correct set of options according to your location. It will enable me to work out where is best for everyone.

Your parents won't let you go abroad on your own, surely.

I notice that most people thing Brum, but those outside of the UK think of London.

Let me enlighten those outside of the UK - Birmingham is the centre of the country, and also has a major International Airport, as well as excellent transport links. The UK is more than just London.

I'll be in Birmingham around that time (although in the middle of exams) so I'll pole up if it's there.
r - Why be a song when you can be a symphony?

[23:14] r: Don't diss Beck, he invented music!
[23:15] Dave: That's like saying the current pope invented Catholicism.

00:09]r: Heh, no-one's replied to your gay thread
[00:10] Dave: Your mom.
[00:11] r: Say what you want about her, she's a c**t
[00:11] Dave: I take a similar dim view of my own mother.
[00:11]r: Did yours leave your dad for a posh tw*t with a mullet and a handlebar moustache then take what was supposed to be your money for uni as part of the divorce settlement?
[00:12] Dave: Sadly not.
[00:13] r: You know what that means then?
[00:13] r: That means I win.

Primeval Blue - almost certainly not the best band in the world.

London is too big for people who may not have been there before. Birmingham has one major mainline station where directions can be given easily.

Weirdy, take a god-damn risk... "I don't like the sound of Birmingham"? So you've never been? So you wouldn't know?

Make a local meeting in Sweden, then. Mariefred with it's "Steam Day" (late spring/early summer?) would be a natural place. You can go by (standard) train to Läggesta, and the the (very) narrow track museum railroad into town.
