[OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
Some really great looking stations there. Good work!
Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
*@ Ben_K: Thanks, Ben_K! Yours isn't too bad at all either!
Now that we have covered the towns, maybe its time for some station layouts, I’ve combined tilesets from New Stations and Industrial Stations. For your information, I did not blank out the name of the stations, it’s just that they are combined with tram stations, and the station names are located in town. I took the liberty to retype them as signs, just for the sake of the screenshots. There are only three types of station layouts in my setting, the terminus, the through stations and the mixed.

Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
The year of 1977 will forever be remembered as the day we bade goodbye to the old Hiroshima trams and ushered in the era of the Modern Trams. Actually, it was around this time that the Modern Tram Set was released for testing and I had to send all available trams to the depot, sell them off, unload the GRF and reload it with the new one to make it happen. But the effort was well worth it, I’m having faster trams and higher capacities. I’ve separated the maps into East and West, each with their own long and short trams.

Very nice, we'll keep Screenshots going, although I'm busier than I was which is a shame.

A few more random shots, give or take another 6-10 screenshots and I'll be starting a new game again.
Now that the coffers are bursting, not much of new train models to choose from, the 80s era is pretty much boring. I think I haven't completed a game past the 1990 mark. Maybe I will in the next game, and maybe I won't.

Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
@thebrightside: Thanks for the cheerful comments! Your Austrian scenario is quite an eye-opener too with the huge train stations layout.
I'm actually awaiting a few sets to be available, namely: Modern Tram Set, Dutch Train Set and the Dutch Tram Set. So while waiting I decided to start a game with the Canadian Stations Set and Canadian Train Set, on a small Canadian island measuring 128 x 128.
By starting in 1955, I've limited myself to a few steam engines as the 60s will usher in the era of the diesel engines. And the first feasible route was to connect lumber to the sawmill, with a couple of Confederations. The map itself is pretty nice with slightly small towns of equal residents. Hopefully, a few would become cities. Haha!

Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
By the end of the first year, I've already used up £280K of my £300K loan (playing with pb_build) for my lumber services which now comprises of 2 'Confederations' hauling freight. The game gave me a lucky break just at the end of the year with a subsidy for connecting the towns of Camborne and Keighley. Just when you thought things couldn't be any luckier, they doubled my subsidy!
By the middle of 1956, I've purchased another Budd RDC to maximise profits for the Camborne-Keighley line. Woot!

Re: [OTTD] Two5Kid's Screenshots
By the end of 1956, I've already paid back half of my loan, thanks partly due to the subsidies for the Camborne-Keighley line. I've begun to embark on another project, linking the Roehampton Farm to Bristol Factory. I've made it a point to use 'Confederations' for freight and 'Budds' for passengers, until the time for change comes. Or when newer better models are available. For now, both of them are doing equally well, and it saves the hassle of ordering different engines for different purposes.
Due to good farm production values and higher income, I've added another 2 Confederations to work the farm produce sector. Making it 4 trains transporting grain and livestock.
