1957 will be remembered as the year that my transport company increased the number of routes available for passenger services. Opening up the Bristol-Walsall line, due to popular demands and to increase the town council's attitude towards my company.

Solihull's residents got what they wished for when their town became the central hub for passenger transport between the towns of Roehampton to the south and Shildon to the north. But once the line was in service, the town council were already in a pretty appalling mood. Due to the destruction/purchase of town-owned land.

By this time I've already had in mind how the whole passenger service would look like in the future. The problem now -- to get more passengers onto the stations. So, the towns would need to grow. So the next few years, emphasis will be placed on town development and planning. Before that could be done, a few junctions would need some work.

I would say that this has been my luckiest game so far. I was planning to transport coal from Camborne Coal Mine when the game plonked down another spanking new coal mine next to the existing one. Talk about coincidence! Playing pb_build has never been this much easy in the early years. I've paid back all debts and I'm already garnering profits like there is no tomorrow.

Birkenhead was the last town to be connected. And I angered the town council by doing so, they seemed to deem that cutting down trees for progress is a no-no. Sheesh. Intercity trams made its debut at Bristol and Camborne.

More upgrades to the system, starting with Shildon. Haha! Cold response from the forum-ers, is it a signal for me to start a new game?

Another new game, this time with the USSet, American Town Names, Modern Tram Set (pre-latest release) and the new Industrial Stations. I started the game in 1960 and with no industries available. The screenshots would most probably be a few from the early years but mostly would be after 1970s. When I finally had all the towns connected and growing as they should be.

Here are the maps, I had to cut them down as they are too long to fit on one screenshot. My main aim in this game is to have a few towns connected with a rural service and the main towns being serviced by the express trains. Some towns will have bus connections, some will have trams.

After a couple of years, I've finally connected 4 towns together in a loop, going clockwise in direction. There will be a few 'loops' of towns and major cities of each loop will be connected with bi-directional lines. Carry on looking at the screenshots to get an idea of what I'm trying to do here.

I named my company Model Railways, as most of the basement model rail stations' scheme all travel in one direction only.

In the year 1965, we introduced city tram services at the densely populated Whitburg Bay. The second screenshot shows our progress on another bi-directional track.

Nice shots Two5kid!

Could you try some without station and town names? They seem to get in the way on some shots. :)

@Ben_K: Oops, didn't see you there. Haha! I'll try, but I guess the latest batch wouldn't be satisfactory to your taste.

Finally after 8 years into the game, I managed to get an industry (the one and only on the map) connected. SD45s hauling coal from Drolow to Exhead. Plenty of rugged terrain to maneuver through.

Almost 10 years into the game now, a healthy income. Now the focus is on town growth. Here we see some massive town planning which has yet come to fruition.

@Ben K: Yes, I've got it all done now.

I've one question for all forum-ers. While playing the game, how do you bypass the town ratings? I've found out that the longer you take to connect a town, the forest (trees) have already crept in, just be mowing down a few squares would've put you in the red for the town council. How did you all create those multiple junctions/tracks without annoying the town?

By always having some sort of presence in the town, even if it is only a bus service.

What's up with your roads? The town centre roads are the nice NARoads but the suburban and rural roads are the TTD Default which also breaks the tunnels...

@Ameecher: I have absolutely no idea. I thought that it was part of the game, because as the town grows, the default roads become NARoads. I think it's better I stick with the UK Roadset in my next game. Ha! That was also my workaround the trees-ratings thingy. By placing bus stops and whatnots in town. Is there anyway we can reduce the growth of trees?

@Badger: I think you would believe me if I said those are inflated balloons on the station platforms. Haha! I can imagine someone suing the company for being injured by an inflated balloon container. :P
