Little help with the GRF settings

Post by Dr Jones »

Basically peeps, I have replaced the DE-AC33C train in the TTD Temperqate trains set with the DM-90 (Dutch Diesel Commuter Train) graphics from another GRF file.

I did that because I find the DM-90 more useful than the DE-AC33C, as I have a few branch lines that I don't electrify (because it is more real that way).

The problem is that I cannot for the life of me understand the Psuedo Sprites that describe speed and capacity etc in the newest TTD(Alpha)Patch, even though I read the guide a few times.

IIRC, the train can hold about 50 people or so in each car. I need your help to work out how I can change the capacity from 0 to 50 passengers, also it needs to be set a double header if that is possible (well, everything is possible, but how do I do it). Also changing the name from DE-AC33C to DM-90 would be nice.

Here are the lines from the DM-90, that I merged into the temperate set...

Anybody got any ideas as to where I go from here? I'll upload it to the forum once it is working if people want.

It's in the following line:

339 * 28 00 00 0A 01 02 00 FF 59 06 0F 09 8C 00 0B B3 01 12 FD 13 01 14 46 15 00 16 30 18 25

This is an "action 0", which sets the vehicle properties. It's actually set to be dual-headed, and a capacity of 70 passengers.

The fact that it doesn't have that in the game must be due to some other reason, like perhaps it's overwritten by a later vehicle in the file?

About publishing the modified file, you should probably ask Michael for permission before doing that, he tends to not like that.

Hi, Dr Jones
Please do what Patchman suggested
Will do, I would have asked anyway, common courtesy it is.

Anyhow, if that line has done it, then i will have to study the NFO file more closely, that is the last vehicle. Actually, it could be the wrong vehicle ID in the 00 action flag maybe? that could make sence. I'll have a look. I'll ahve to see if the BR103, has a capsity of 70, that would be a big giveaway

Cheers for the help people.

EDIT: It is now working perfectly, it was a very silly mistake, which isn't worth going into.
