Well, as already stated before, both by me and by others (meanwhile), it cannot be done properly without a large associated coding work. And that´s exactly why I gave up on this task 3 (?) years ago, although I felt the need to give the TR the tracks it likes best, from the very beginning.

Of course it will be

I realise that. There are limitations which I can't solve, but I can live with those limitations. I'll make it look as good as possible, within my reach. :D

No worries about borrowing the tunnel graphics btw, though it would be good if you could draw some better ones and put them in the 8bpp replacement project ;)

*edit* heres the quote in case anyone doesn't understand!
Tunnels need to be redone, since these are just 'borrowed'.

I plan on doing something like a bored tunnel[1], i.e. a complete tubular shape.

If I pull it off to do something better, we sure can use it in the OpenGFX project.

Note:
[1] Not to be mistaken for a boring tunnel.

No. :( I forgot to set it because I was watching some poor wretch trying to dig a tubular tunnel by hand.

Hi FooBar, I have coded a bridge for these tracks. At the noment this my test grf replaces the maglev tubular bridges to your transrapid tracks. You can include this into your set if you like... Only it lacks of a nice pillar...

That looks actually very good! And not just very good, but VERY very good!

I really like to incorporate this in the set, so please PM your creations, and I'll include it. Ofcourse you'll get full credit for all of you work.

This progress even might trick me into redoing the tunnels, depots and adding the stations. I don't really have time to do that, but it seems that time has to be made. Not having to learn how to code bridges properly really saves time. If I design a pillar, would you be able to code it?

I received your PM, thanks!

Make that a 'when' Still needs drawing...

Please don't expect results any day soon. Because I'm busy with other non-TT stuff, it might take a little while longer. You'll receive the files automagically when they're done

Thanks again for your good work on those bridges!

BTW, I just wanted to tell you some things. I see no-one has made a screenie with signals on it, so I made it.. You gotta think something to do with these... Because imo they look a bit odd..

I know I have a BBCode error in my signature but I really cba to fix it.

Ammler suggested that I make a little grf to evade that signal issue... I only modified the offsets.. Maybe the signal issue is now better..

EDIT: I tried to find another way, because now the signals are sometimes on wrong side.. But because the signals then wouldn't be compatible with other rail types, ther really is nothing to do...

I like that solution. Can't get much better than that, because the signals are not specific for each track type. A parameter option could do fine here, so that users can choose the preferred behaviour. Thanks for the idea!

not sure if it's possible, but what about the signals beeing embedded into the track itself?

The problem arises that it won't be compatible with other rail-types...

@Lord: your grf seems to only change the normal signals, no presignals :(
* @Belugas wonders what is worst... a mom or a wife...
<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

:o ... I didn't mean of them.. Maybe I'll update it when I have time :).. And add support for semaphores too... And PBS signals (I hope they still are there..)

Problem with transrapid in OpenTTD!

Post by LoWang »

Hello I tried this nice new maglev track but if I use the windows version it has corrupted colours and looks awfull! When I tried the dos version it is OK! Another weird thing is, that with the dos version the short bridges have corrupted colours, but the longer ones do not! Anyway the bridges look not changed (with the old style maglev track), so this is not done yet or it just does not work for me?
thanks for advices

Seems like you have TTD(Patch) for DOS then. Perhaps this site offers some help figuring it out.
