How ironic. I've just "fixed" the current title screen by removing all those damnable railroad crossings.

Edit - wouldn't it make more sense for people to upload the saves and a screenie rather than renamed as opnttd.dat file? That way viewers will have an easier time comparing entries rather than having to keep replacing the .dat file?

Heh, I read your post, I wanderd if you got the idea from me :P

About the files, I much prefer to get them as a .dat file, because it means I just have to copy it over and watch it, i'd much rather do that instead of changing the filenames to .dat and back from a .sav.

Also, there is no difference between the .dat file and a .sav, just the extension. So all you need to do is change the .dat into a .sav if you want to look at the actual save games. It works both ways.

If you know how to make a title screen, I hartily reccomend you make one for this competition :) i'd love more and more submissions ^_^

Fun competition :D
Thankyou for your submission, it has been placed in the "Open" category.
Can you please specify which GRF's you have used? I see LongVehicles v4, Industrial stations, and I cant identify the train GRF. However, it loads fine for me, which means they must all be in the COOP pack, which is good :)

Thankyou for your submission, it has been added to the "Strict" category.

Sorry for not mentioning the newGRFs. As you correctly presumed they're all in the OpenTTDCoop pack.
*Edit Something else maybe worth mentioning, I'm using Nightly 11588

The .dat doesn't utilise all the mention GRFs but I have these as my standard playset so :P

The newGRFs used are *deep breath*

Total Town Replacement
Aviators Aircraft
Container Freight Station and Harbour
Industrial Stations Renewal
UK Renewal Add on
UK Renewal Set
City Stations
Suburban Stations
Modern Suburban Stations
Rural Stations
Long Vehicles
New Depots
Stolen Trees
New Ships
New Water
BK Tunnels
Industrial Stations
Japan Set Landscape

The reason why its 64x64 is to keep load times down. 64x64 is just over one screen so surely thats enough ^__^

You seem to have missed my reasoning. I figured it'd be easier administratively if everyone gave .sav files, because then you could load them as saves readily.
When they're .dats you have to manually keep switching them around into the data folder. Much more work.

You know, I think 64*64 is actually too small. I have 1280*1024 res, and I can see pretty much the entire map at once when zoomed in. Would folks who are using 1600 resolutions be able to see the edge of the map?
And the load time for 64 and 128 maps are minisclue.
I'm considering making an entry, but it'd be 128*128.

..because it's eyecandy...I can't have custom station grfs...It's like a kind of facility, which operates the canals and locks...

hmm, okay, I see.

Feel free to use eyecandy GRF's if you want, you can make a submission to the open category.

Here is my entry. I just used the main station from my latest save game for this. Feel free to change it into a save game and take a look.

I used a 256x256 map (I think).
No GRF's here.
Temperate climate.

Well, I personally dont have a problem with it, but rubidium said they should be all 64x64 for loading purposes. If nobody has a problem with a 128x128 I guess it would be fine, but 256x256 and higher would probaly be too big.

Okay, 128x128 is feasible too, but people that want to submit a 10 MB 2048x2048 savegame as introduction game is a completely different thing. But then again, I don't really care if people want to load a 10 MB file on game startup.
