Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
okay, there seems to be some problem with your submission. When I try to load it I get the error message "Game Load Failed - Savegame is made with newer version."wickedgenius wrote:Here is my entry. I just used the main station from my latest save game for this. Feel free to change it into a save game and take a look.
I used a 256x256 map (I think).
No GRF's here.
Temperate climate.
Wickedgenius =)
Not sure why this is happening since i'm using latest nightly.
What version are you using?

I've got a similar station about somewhere but I'll have to find it and I think it's just on plain old 0.5.3.(I think that's the latest stable)

@littlemikey: I'm going to need to take a look at my backups that I made recently to see if I put the one thats similar on there. Hopefully it'll be up by tonight.

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
Thankyou, I dont use ChrisIN, and it seems that you cant open ChrisIN saves if you dont have it, which would make sence of course. However, it makes it hard to submit it as a winner if nobody can open itwickedgenius wrote:@littlemikey: I'm going to need to take a look at my backups that I made recently to see if I put the one thats similar on there. Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
UPDATE: I will be on holidays and away from my computer (or at least a decent internet connection) untill the 6th of January 2008. I will commence judging and whatnot then. Most likely I will ask one or two other members from this site to help with the judging, so, if you're important and would like to help out, please send me a PM. Note: You cannot be a judge and submit a file

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
Strict - on a specially made 128 * 128 map. If you open it up as a save you'll see what I mean.
Interesting, it seems that waypoint names show on the title page.

To me that reads "if you're self important, PM me".littlemikey wrote:Most likely I will ask one or two other members from this site to help with the judging, so, if you're important and would like to help out, please send me a PM.
To the submitters - several of the submissions don't look like they'd come across too well on smaller screen resolutions. Just something to keep in mind, not everyone has 1280*1024.
Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
Arrg, it's almost killed me, but here you are: 640 * 480 compatible
- I guess that means my first is Strict and this is Open (as it's my second sub)
it looks a bit messy, and it is, but I wasn't about to restart from the beginning - my original screen is also from the same .sav- I guess that means my first is Strict and this is Open (as it's my second sub)

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
Strict 64x64 submission
Took me a while but I'm really pleased with the effect. I've gone for a realistic feel, rather than a game feel. Using version 0.6.0 Beta 2 for the one way roads.
I couldn't get a screenshot when using the actual title screen so apologies for that. The Centre sign in the middle is not there in the opntitle.dat file.
This submission is 100% compatible with lower screen resolutions (640 x 480 to 1024x768). After that I don't know how well it will hold up as my own screen can't go above it.
Hope you like it.

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
heres another better strict 64x64 and its 640 x 480 compatible all the way to max resolution. even has use of timetables to make a Yate plane come less often than the rest. if someone had the patience they could make a title screen where all vehicles come at set times or failing that could make certian ones rarely seen as i have done with the planes.

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
where did you get those ground tilles and the transformed Eneryplant?@ froggo...
Are those 32Bpp graffics or transformed 8Bpp from 32Bpp graffics?
Realy like those streets and ground tilles, I know this isn't the right threath
but I've got an other question, how does one make a .dat file?
Cause I want to give it a go to.

Re: OpenTTD title page competition!
it's easy create a one then save it and then change the extension from .sav to .dat
Remember though that it should work for any resolution thats in the options list.
