Realy like those streets and ground tilles, I know this isn't the right threath
Yes, they are 32bpp graphics, I'm not sure where exactly I got them from though, I was watching the .blend topic in graphics section.

Okay – they are a useful bunch this lot.

I've finally realised what seems so wrong with my one. (I've been using it since I posted) It's using temperate landscape, not alpine; it just seems fundamentally wrong - So, to prove I have nothing better to do with my time than make a new map and cover it just for the opntitle ( ), I present version 3!

Can I pull out my first submission (change it to Open) and have this as my Strict?

It looks good. And it doesn't make a lot of noise, like the older one. When I was looking at that screenshot I noticed that I did one stupid bug, with tunnels. Will be fixed in next version. Here's a little .tar that fixes it:

It works now. When I'll release next version ( I'll do it when there'll be some new graphics ), just remove this .tar.

Hey everyone :) Back from my holiday, but due to an unforseen circumstance (My mother) I dont have access to my laptop for two weeks, which has my OTTD and all the entries on it. As such, i'll make the closing date for the compitition the 1st of Feburary.

Hope this gives everyone enough time to finalise things.

Cant wait to see the winner ^_^;

Well, here's what I came up with. 64*64, no GRF's.

for my resolution on this computer, it's centered on the middle of the map.

What about changing OpenTTD in a way so that it "plays" various title screens? I mean like a slideshow, Locomotion does this also.

You know, I never thought of that, I guess it would be nice, but it would require a big code change. Go ask about it in the suggestions forum.
(Its not possible now, but it may be in the future)

Strict/Open submission:

No GRFs used, all original stuff, but I forgot to change the map size to be smaller before it, so the save game is massive... X(

So the file is about 6meg, and I can't upload it, but here's a screenshot of the title:

Thanks, that's the look I was going for... I always liked watching the old TTD intro and wondering where all the trains went... And, if Chris Sawyer is anything like me, they just go slightly off screen, turn around, and come back!

obviously to use it you'll need to rename it and change the extension. (not an entry)

And I've zoomed out once... Map size 512*512 (Full details disabled~this to undo the growth of grass on the unused tracks)

Dontcha love it when something you create turns into something better then you could ever have imagined?

Watching these screenshots makes me die a little inside, I cant wait to load them up when I get my computer back. I can tell that this will be one close competition for sure.

Keep them coming guys ^_^ you bring a tear to my eye.

Hmm, I cant tell for sure, but I dont think I have all of those GRF's. To make my life easier, would you be able to put them all in a .zip for me? Or are they all included in the OTTD GRF pack anyway?

Thanks :)

Rainier watcher, can i just say your signature is p***ing me off. A description of threat levels is essential. If severe is so clear, please answer the following questions, what security procedures should a Military base take on during Severe threat level, how does severe compare to substantial and critical, in terms of security procedures. To me Severe is about as clear as the old terminology "Bikini state: black special", the word means nothing but the description is everything!
