[8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX

Depends from country and era...
Such a big building needs some different texturing/color in a couple of floors to break the monotony. Windows would look better if they were darker and deeper. Check the windows on the last floor (brown) of my white toyland office building.

Cool, but perhaps use some more colourful textures? Flats in the Netherlands are usually painted in some colors so they look less awfull.

After such a long time, I would love to see my office block drawing rendered and in action! :)

Working on some more office blocks atm, hopefully they should be done soon, still doing a lot of post-exam celebration at the moment!

On the organisation front, I am looking for some coders to adopt sections of graphics to help rebuild momentum for the summer... Particularly in need of adoption are vehicles (road and rail), GUI and town buildings. They would be responsible for putting together grfs from the existing grfs and graphics and chasing up missing graphics, anyone up for it?

Well, I'm an idiot.

When I started coding the buildings, I didn't set the bounding boxes (or, I should say, I set them to all to 0) thinking that it wouldn't matter all that much. As it turns out, it is quite important (fancy that).

Having now set them, it appears to have solved the issue of having the construction diggers placed on top of the buildings.

Just wondering if anyone has yet coded these awesome sprites? http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=668244#p668244
If not, I'll start with them.. Will do two grfs, one with actionA the other with action 1, 2, 3..
But I will not start coding when smb else has done those before..

I don't think they have been done/started...

Zephyris if we could lend a bulldozer from heavy Equipment set can u produce the Road Reconstruction Road sprites?
(or is that already done? :o)

The road construction sprites have been done, but the digger/bulldoser graphics have not; heavy industry graphics would be perfect!

OK people, I haven't been to this topic for a while, and after just a very quick look for downloads, this is my impression:

OK, maybe I could have used a little less smileys, but you people have just made my day...erm...instead you made me wanna play OTTD again (and in fact i'm gathering GRFs and will start compiling soon).     for everyone who worked hard to make these ultra-premium graphics. I'm happy to be an OpenTTD player now

OpenGFX - newTrains Arctic/Tropic -

I know it's supposed to be only tropic, but to make it arctic also, it lacks only coal, livestock and paper, if it'd possible be so kind and draw those too, we could have Tropic AND arctic ready. Currently only Tropical and Arctic climates ae changed. action7 prevents from Temperate and Toyland, so Zephyris' wagons are still handy for them.

And if someone completes maglev trains, allow them for Tropic and Arctic too, then those trains are complete. Everything here is ActionA, for I see no point of doing Action1, 2, 3, 0 chains :P

So why did I spend the time to originally draw the replacements for the arctic and tropic locomotives

You might want to recolour that yellow I guess. Feel free. Whoever's doing it - if you're stuck, PM me, I'll send the original photoshop file which will make it easier.

cheers,

Andy

My locos are different from his, :) I didn't do the monorail or Maglev yet, only standard rail. No worries.

Dan:
I have coded your trains but not yet with Action A. The original Kelling 3100 and MJS 1000 were symmetrical and so only had 4 sprites each, but your replacements had 8 sprites each. If you wanted to redraw those locomotives I'd be happy to code them all with Action A.

The offsets still need a little adjustment but that shouldn't take too long. Figuring out how to put a tender on the Wills 2-8-0 will take longer.
