Andythenorth, can you help me in creating additional mechanisms on the deck (cranes, winches, etc.)?

All road vehicles are drawn and coded, but look a little plain. It would be great if someone could adopt the road vehicles and add little details to bring the sprites up to scratch. I may be able to help with this.
I would like to give that a try.. I've got holidays now and loads of free time :)

Wow, looks great! The challenge is converting it to the 8bpp look well (and getting the company colour working :) ) Having tried it I don't think it should be too hard, and it does look brilliant. Maybe try a non-anti aliased render?

*edit* lol missed the new page :)

Excellent! Enjoy, I think the road vehicles will look great with a bit of pixel tweaking.

Again excellent!

Awesome work with the ship sprites :D They look great! Can't wait to see the others

Oh, and thanks to buttercup for the coding - It's always good to know if you post some sprites they'll get coded before you can blink!

without anti aliased it looks .. :? strange, i think. Anyway, it needs pixel work :)

I think they look pretty good without AA. Maybe some pixel tweaking here and there, but the non-AA ships are very nice in general. In fact, in general your ships are very nice in general!

AA makes things look a bit blurry, which doesn't really fit the 8bpp style IMO. Without it looks pretty much as if you pixel-pushed yourself. Good job! If you plan on doing the hovercraft, could you fit it with some proper windows while you're at it?

Without AA the pixel tweaking work is minimised, and imo the end product looks better. plus you don't get problems with transparency to the background "magic blue". Sorry to pester, but if you make the white slightly grey (try 75%) I think the boats are perfect.

*edit* and once your done with the ships do you feel like making some planes? I think they would look good

Pulling the grsphics for trains now, and I'm looking at uzurpator's stuff for tropic. You said we could use Action 7 to have doifferent graphics for both climes, I'm inclined to say let's use mine for arctic and his for tropic. It looks like the wagons are full 32px on his, and I'm working on extending the arctic ones to this as well, I can change the graphics to look slightly more "British" for temperate as well, but the wagon size will stay the same. Toyland will be, well, more toyish :D

Thoughts? I personally like the look of long railcars.

Also love the ships, They look like the originals yet have differences, very good work. I prefer the AA versions as well.

Personally I don't like the perfectly close-coupled look, I would go for 30px long if you think that's ok? The most important thing is consistency.
I prefer the AA versions as well.
Do you mean the non- anti aliased ones? ie. the later ones?

I second that. There should be a slight gap between wagons in order to be able to make a turn
.

30px seems like a ggod compromise to me. Especially with the temperate cars (They're getting buffers)

and yes, I mean the newer ships look good.

Zephyris wrote: Trees
Again this is LordAzamath is the one doing most work on this at the moment. All temperate, arctic and tropical trees are done; the only remaining trees are some Toyland and the cacti. Once these are done then the "New Landscape" GRF is complete... If you want an easy start to sprite drawing then the cacti is probably a good place to start.
Looking back through the thread, LordAzamath posted these. There's a sprite missing from the second group but otherwise they look fine to include...

Would you like to update the landscape GRF? Include those cacti (I think they look fine) and I think this version of the transmitter looks good... The mushroom and spiral trees that have been done could be included too.

... and here is the temperate bank (minus the dome) kinda ready for coding ... it'll need some chopping. I think its ok without a dome, what do other people think?

That looks really good. I don't think the dome is needed tbh, and perhaps some variation from the original graphics would help establish OpenTTD as a separate entity?

I'd like to see something on the roof nonetheless... It looks weird...

Probably because I'm accustomed to original domed look ;)

Nice to see there's so much activity here again

Would it be possible for you to decode the grf with the Road Vehicle Sprites in it?
