Misc. Buildings Conversion

Hello Locomotion Community!

With recent updates to the openLocomotion project, you can place individual buildings in-game. Before, in order to add scenery or structures, you had to create them as stations. Then you had to lay track, and place them with all the construction restrictions of regular stations. Now, you can enable sandbox mode, and just place whatever wherever!

So, I'm converting some old mods from stations to Misc. Buildings that can be placed in-game.

Nice. Now I can place any building I want without taking up any station tiles

This is a true game changer, thank you so much!
When I was younger I used to think those 2x2 buildings were actual port buildings haha!

The end of an era. No more 40-tile stations for me.

Great work! :)

Small tip from me - to prevent the towns replacing your buildings with roads (especially in big cities), build a fence around the buildings or at least in the places where roads lead up to them.

How to avoid the destruction of these buildings by AI or the town?
There is a coding guide? I have a small Spanish station, but I don't know how to code it to avoid to be destructed by the city.

This list of variables has a section on buildings. I haven't messed around with building objects personally, but all of the variables seem to work like any other object. "bit_2" is the one that makes an object destructible or not, with a value of 1 being indestructible.

I'm not sure how up-to-date the list is as a whole, but it's still been immensely helpful.

Another group of stations converted to misc. buildings. These are ones made by creator Oppie. Please do let me know what you think!

Looks very good. Only, does Oppie know about it?

I have not been able to contact Oppie or Digidampmam, they appear to be long gone. That's why I'm trying to be very transparent about who created each mod. It's not my work, it's theirs, and I'm just reformatting them for openLoco.
In my opinion, when the original modders wanted to be able to place these freely as individual structures, rather than as a station. But original locomotion did not allow for that.
If anyone has their contact info, please let me know!

I had good contact with Digidampfman. We met several times and he visited me in Munich more often.
Unfortunately, he died in September 2020.
But I am sure that he would be in favour of keeping his works alive.

This is the reason because I use Creative Commons licenses on my works (GPL in the latest, due the sources), because can reuse them without asking me. The latest release of the trains that I did includes all source files (I hope) and instructions, because maybe someone would like to modify them, add new liveries... and maybe I cannot help.

I still use Digidampfman's stations after Glenjimen converted them
