Timetables are too complex and to difficult to learn. Not to mention time consuming. We need a feature to make spreading the trains much simpler.
A station should be configurable to only allow one train to leave every X days, this would be a lot more simple and intuitive.
For instance, if the player configures X to 50, if a train arrives at the station and finishes un/loading 40 days after the last train left, it would be held for 10 days.

OpenTTD 14 (RC3 out now, full version around April 1) introduces a new feature, "unbunching" which will do just that. Schedule a stop at a depot with an "unbunch" order. This is available with or without timetables, and available to all vehicles.Cleonilsso wrote: ↑24 Mar 2024 09:21 Timetables are too complex and to difficult to learn. Not to mention time consuming. See https://www.openttd.org/news/2024/02/10/unbunching for more details.
Alternatively, if you're using the JGR Patch Pack fork of OpenTTD, you can enable automatic timetable separation.
