Any graphics for a graphical interface required?

Post by Purno »

I worked on the graphics of a graphical interface for FreeTT and I liked that. Would you like me to do the same for TE?

Here's a window of FreeTT attached. Note that this is only a 'preview' of how FreeTT's interface could be like. (It isn't programmed yet)

I must say, that looks pretty nice.
I don't think I have the authority to tell you that you're accepted, but I like it.

Hmm, no code? I supose that it will take some time, depending on howmany and how experinced progarmmers that will code it. I'll guess it will take 3-4 months for one programmer maby longer

This picture looks good, but which fetures will the window engine have?

Some concept art on a possible GUI wouldn't hurt, even though we're not even coding yet.

Exampels:
Iconify windows
Sizability to windows
Be able to lock focus on a window.
Enable/Disable closebutton / sizability etc.
Drag and drop

Ehmmm... this is just for the graphics, I can't code. If you need some buttons, I can draw the graphics for them.

The feartures of the interface is up to the coders.

Anyway, if you have GNU/Linux, SDL, SDL_Image and Lua5 you can download my game and test the userinterface in realtime. (Sorry no windows binarys.) It isn't as fancy as these two pictures, but it works.

If you are intrested it will not be to difficult to port it from plain SDL to OpenGL with SDL. I have alredy once ported it from DirectX to SDL.

Drag and drop could be implemented (have some indas how).

Currently buttons only handle text but verry soon there will be images support.
There are not somany diffrent contols yet, but they are quite easy to iplement.
