I know I suggested it before, but it seems to have become lost in the 'New suggestions for the patch' topic, so I'm just going to repost it here. Please stay with me as I repeat my previous post almost word for word...
My issue is this: when you send a vehicle to a depot, it is serviced the moment it enters the depot, and the 'last serviced' date reflects this. Unfortunately, this is no good if you decide to leave the vehicle in the depot for some time for whatever reason.
As you have all probably noticed, the reliability rating of a vehicle continues to decrease even if it is sitting idle in a depot. If you leave it in there long enough, the first thing it does the moment you give the 'go' command is breakdown, and make a return trip to the depot for servicing.
My suggestion is this: perhaps it would be possible to service the vehicle not when it enters the depot, but when it leaves, with the 'last serviced' date reflecting this. That way, the above problem may be avoided.
As Arthur C. Clarke once wrote: "If an author cannot plagiarize himself, who can he plagiarize?" Uh oh, I just plagiarized...
How about servicing vehicles when they leave a depot?

could be a idea, sometimes I'm having this too, especcialy on busy airports. They are so long in the hangar that they go back directly

On the same subject, can we fix it so the ships get serviced whenever they go through a depot? The trains get serviced whenever they go into a depot, even if they aren't told to; but the ships can just run right through a depot without stopping for service. One of the potentially neat tricks would be to put a depot on a narrow spot where the ships would be sure to go through it on their normal rounds, so they'd get serviced in effect automatically. This would be extra nice since ship movement order lists tend to get really long anyway, what with all the buoys.
