Crash when opening the industry directory without industries

Post by aahz77 »

The latest nightly (r2074) (and possibly older versions, haven't tried) crash when opening the industry directory without any industries on a newly created random map. See attached Crashlog and cfg. Can provide OllyDebug screenshot if needed, but I think it should be reproducable.

The problem persists when I try to open the directory after building a single industry and destroying it again.

One after one, by the star-dogged Moon,
Too quick for groan or sigh,
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang,
And cursed me with his eye.

Well, don't do that then. :p

I'm looking into it.

EDIT: And it should be fixed in 2075.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I noticed this quite some time ago, probably when using r1963, I just forgot to report it. Sorry about that.

And this happens in the scenario editor, too. So one must be careful not to click on that one instead of the "Build industry" menu.

Care to enlighten me on how exactly one goes about getting to the industry directory from the scenario editor?

Oh well  I should have known that it's the person in front of the computer which is the problem

It works. Thank you for the quick fix. Not that I have any use of an empty industry directory, but a software should never crash when the user performs a legal action, no matter how absurd the intent may be (and it could always be a "misclicked" action, as Nagyzee pointed out).

Sorry, bad memory on my part. It happened to me while testing a half-ready self-made scenario that's why I remembered wrong...
