The (German) demo is being uploaded as I type (thanks dominionspy).
EDIT: It's up now at http://tgiantdemo.cjb.net/ (yes, that is hosted by the forums, it's just on a different hostname, for various technical reasons). Please be considerate with bandwidth. Enjoy!

I don't like the demo.
Basicly it includes:
- One american scenario settled in 1850, timelimit is set to ten years
- Only horses are included in the game
- One additional map in the "config" folder (just copy it to your save folder and load it)
The mission is to supply four military forts with 50 wood units within the 10 years. To do that, you have four different kind of horses to choose from. Personaly that is not enough and pretty boring to watch a large horse army running down a street
Beside that, the game seem to have good potential, there are plenty of industries, the schedule feature allows you easily (okay, it's confusing the first moments) to add new verhicles to a specific route and the vehicles have a good number of different proberties like speed, acceleration, power and so on.

There will be a second demo shortly after the release as Hans said.

I already talked to Hans Schlicher, it's possible to add new engines quite easy If you do it in the right format. They will help me if I write an app for TG on this point.
But currently I am unsure if I buy TG, because it looks like Signals are disabled and will be added with a patch in the future

Hmm, when there is enough demand and I like to play the game,
yes then I would write tools for it, if I find the railroad demo boring,
I won't work on such tools... nor spend money for a game that I don't like...
But I have to wait for Hans Schlicher to answer my last email/pm...
Currently I researched some stuff, If I don't get an OK from Jowood I won't make something ....

Hi
Jowood don't allow changes on their Demos, I support it, so won't do anything for let you play the demo more than the original...
Did you changed textures or settings?
http://forum.jowood.de/showthread.php?threadid=63050
PS: It's already known on the german tg board how to switch the start screen

For you that might be true..... but definatly not for everyone.dizcon wrote:The game is a piece of s***. Won't bother to list my cons, I've been doing so ever since I first realized the game was gonna disappoint me.. Demo got me bored after two minutes, but playing it before an OpenTTD/TTDPatch session will enhance your TT experience, guess it's the best way to use it.

I take that back
Just had a look at it, yeesh, without even mentioning the looks, the interface is really (and I mean REALLY) bad.
They should change that incredibly (and I know they won't...) for me to go play the game...
